Security breach causes clearing of airport terminal
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

WARWICK, R.I. The terminal at T-F Green Airport was cleared yesterday after an elderly man accidentally breached airport security.

Airport officials say the man was unfamiliar with the airport and mistakenly walked past airport screeners through the exit lane.

The screener did not immediately notice because she was logging in two law enforcement officers. By the time she could issue an alert, then man was in the midst of other passengers.

Airport officials decided to clear the terminal to make certain it was secure.

Some outgoing flights were delayed, and travelers had to pass through screening again before they could re-enter the terminal.

The terminal was closed for less than an hour. All the passengers were rescreened within just over two hours.
