Judge to allow some diary entries to be admitted in court-martial
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

RALEIGH, N.C. Some diary entries from an Army sergeant who allegedly attacked fellow troops just after the invasion of Iraq can be used in his upcoming court-martial.

Hasan Akbar (AK'-bar) is also accused of stealing grenades from a Humvee and using them and a gun in the attack that killed two officers.

A judge ruled yesterday that autopsy photos and some diary entries could be used by prosecutors in their case.

Prosecutors say the entries show Akbar had long planned the attack, however the judge is only letting them present entries from just before it happened.
